Cradle Cap: Follow The Doctor’s Advice

Cradle cap can be described as infantile seborrhoeic dermatitis and it happens because of the hormonal disorder in sebaceous glands which make it hyper active and allows it to pass through placenta to the baby during pregnancy. This leads to the growth of skin cells on baby’s head. However, contrary to the widely held public opinion it is not a serious illness at all.

The best treatment for cradle cap is to apply baby oil to the affected area and washing with a baby shampoo. It must also be added here that cradle cap improves with time all that is required is following doctor’s advice and not loosing patience. Cradle cap, like any other illness, is just an illness and, therefore, requires a calm methodical approach to it. Panicking would only worsen the situation. People should, however, be careful that at no point they use force to remove it for it can lead to further complication, thereby, worsening of situation. Rather than doing all this people would be far better if they heed to doctor’s advice and follow his medication. This will lead to sure shot improvement in the situation.

Cradle Cap: What I Find Risky!

informed about the effectiveness of homely remedies for treating cradle cap, I tried them and found them somehow risky. Commercial lotions are free from it.

Very often it is said that the neonatal disease known as cradle cap can be managed well with homely remedies. In fact, it is a skin condition and largely harmless. It is not caused by any infection and there is no chance that it would contaminate others. Yet, I do not prefer using the homely remedies. They may cure the disease but always not above risk.

Rather, I find it better and safer to use commercial lotions to manage cradle cap well. These lotions are made as per the suggestion of the specialists and exclusively meant for the disease. Hence, they will be helpful in managing cradle cap but will not cause any harmful reaction. Unlike the homely remedies, there is no risk involved in using these lotions.
