The skin condition of cradle cap is not harmful for your kid. Healing of this condition comes with time.

The babies are blessed with utmost care by parents. To raise a child healthily is one of the top most concerns of parents. They go to any lengths in caring for their child. Sometimes, temporary health disorders or skin conditions like cradle cap makes them incalculably worried. For such parents, the relief is that this condition will heal and will not leave any effect on the skin of your infant.

The cradle cap is a minor form of seborrheic dermatitis or seborrhoea. In new born it is observed as infantile seborrheic dermatitis. This condition occurs atop baby’s head, it is accumulation of excessive sebum, which comes out of sebaceous glands and accumulates on the baby’s head. It starts with redness in the skin and forms crusty, greasy, oily and patchy scales.

The baby’s head must be washed with lukewarm water and rinsed with baby shampoo. The scales must be removed with soft brush when dried. Repeating this procedure and soaking the head with baby oil helps to keep the skin healthy. The cradle cap will heal as and when the seborrheic functioning gets in order.
